School Leaders Meet 2024 Financial Literacy in Schools


On 28th September 2024, Aavison Education in collaboration with EduDrone – WE CONNECT, successfully hosted the School Leaders Meet 2024 focused on an increasingly significant topic—Financial Literacy in Schools and launched the exclusive book series on financial literacy, The Money Matters. The gathering saw the participation of esteemed school leaders, educators, and financial experts, making it a valuable platform for exchanging insights and ideas on preparing students for a financially informed future.
Opening Session
The event began with a warm welcome to the attendees by the host, Dr. Kajal Chhatija and Mr. Sanjay Chhatija, emphasizing the critical role financial literacy plays in shaping both present and future well-being. It was highlighted that in today’s world, financial education is a necessity for everyone, particularly for the younger generation.
Paras Fursule, Founder and CEO of Aavison Education, delivered the opening address along with the board team, Anand Fursule, Avinash Fursule and Dinesh Srivastava. His remarks set the tone for the day, stressing the need for integrating financial literacy into school curricula to foster better financial management skills from an early age.
Panel Discussion 1: Financial Literacy – Fad or Reality?
The first panel discussion explored whether financial literacy is just a fleeting trend or a real, long-term necessity. Dr. Kajal Chhatija, Founder and CEO, EduDrone – WE CONNECT, moderated the discussion. The panelists included distinguished educators and school leaders, such as:
• Mr. Mukesh Tilwani (Director, Bachpan Shivtejnagar Chinchwad and Academic Heights Public School)
• Dr. Rashmi Gupta (Principal, CP Goenka International School)
• Ms. Kanika Anand (Principal, Arise International School)
• Ms. Shilpi Shukla (Principal, Priyadarshani High School)
• Mr Pushkar Choubey (Director, RKL Galaxy)
The discussion delved into the increasing relevance of financial literacy in today’s world and concluded that financial education is not a passing fad but a critical reality that schools must embrace.
Ice Breaker & Energizing Activity
Following the panel discussion, Ms. Saryu led the participants in engaging ice-breaking and energizing activity saying ‘Boo Bolo Kitne….? Aap Bolo Jitne!!!!!’ that took them back to their memory lane recollecting their childhood experiences with finances. It fostered interaction and rejuvenated the audience.

Special Session by Mr. Sumeet Arora, Author & Financial Expert
The spotlight of the event was the session conducted by Mr. Sumeet Arora, a renowned author and financial expert, along with his team, Ms. Natasha Davesar, Ms. Varindra, and Ms. Saryu. Mr. Arora, with his vast experience in education and financial learning strategies, shared insights on his new series, The Money Matters (TMM), which aims to create student-centric financial curricula. He discussed the importance of integrating effective financial management principles into education.
Key activities in this session included Leaders’ Brain churning Session “Boojho Toh Jaanein! unleashing the Power of Collective Genius with an activity based on the key elements of Financial Literacy ‘Earning, Saving, Investing, Spending and Systems’. The audience thoroughly enjoyed the session. This was followed by a presentation by Mr. Arora where he shared the different simple and interesting ways to inculcate the subject in daily life.
The highlight was a presentation by Ms. Natasha Davesar, Author, on holistic education and its role in shaping students’ financial wisdom.
Panel Discussion 2: Role of Schools and Parents in Making Students Money Wise
The second panel discussion focused on the role of both schools and parents in equipping students with financial knowledge. Moderated again by Dr. Kajal Chhatija, the panel included:
• Dr. Dharna Gupta (Principal, Clara Global School)
• Dr. M Madan (Principal, Symbiosis International School)
• Ms. Renuka Kaushik (Head Principal, Darshan Academy)
• Mr. Jitendra Khairnar (Senior Academician)
• Mr. Pranay Oswal (Founder, I Qube)
• Mr. Ashok Sachdev (CEO Chitrakoot International School)
This session emphasized the collaborative role that both educational institutions and families play in developing financially savvy students. Post the panel discussion, all the dignitaries, team members were called on the dais for the grand book launch of Aavison Education – The Money Matters.
The event concluded with a felicitation ceremony honouring the panellists for their valuable contributions and the dignitaries present.
The School Leaders Meet 2024 was a resounding success, drawing attention to the growing importance of financial literacy in schools.
