Vadodara, September 22: The Department ofDepartment of Sociology, MSU Celebrates World Gratitude Day Sociology, Faculty of Arts, Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, marked World Gratitude Day 2025 with a vibrant celebration on the theme “Lead with Kindness, Lead with Gratitude.” The event was graced by Honorable Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Bhalchandra Bhanage, Registrar Prof. (Dr.) K.M. Chudasama, University authorities, faculty members and students.
The program began with floral greetings and expressions of appreciation, followed by activities that captured the spirit of thankfulness. Students of sociology department presented handmade gratitude cards, flowers, and tokens of love to university authorities, while a “Gratitude Walk” across the University Head Office symbolized unity and collective appreciation.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Virender Singh, Head of the Department of Sociology, emphasized that “gratitude is not merely an individual virtue but a powerful social bond that strengthens communities. We thank university authorities, faculty members, students, staff and responsible media people”
Dr. Singh said “we are thankful to Maharaja Sayajirao Gaikwad III who established Baroda College in 1881 which was later established as The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. Thanks to Maharaja Pratapsinhrao Gaekwad, who fulfilled the vision of his grandfather Sir Sayajirao by establishing this university in 1949. We are thankful to Rajmata Shubhangini Raje Gaekwad – Honorable Chancellor of University for her blessings & guidance. We are thankful to Gaikwad Family for their patronage & care over generations.”
Adding to the occasion, students of the Department of Sociology shared a collective message of thanks: “Today is World Gratitude Day, and we are privileged to extend our heartfelt appreciation to every individual who contributes their efforts and labor for our University. We thank our Head of the Department Dr. Virender Singh and our dedicated professors for inspiring minds and shaping futures through their support and guidance. We also thank the persons behind the curtains—our administrators and housekeeping staff—for creating an environment where we can grow and develop well. And lastly, to our fellow students, whose curiosity, collaboration, and spirit make this academic journey meaningful. All these parts together become one body and spirit not only of our department but also of our university, making it a ‘functional system.’ Today, we simply pause to say THANK YOU to express our gratitude.”
Honorable Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Bhanage and Registrar Prof. Chudasama highlighted that education is incomplete without values, and gratitude is one such value that shapes responsible citizens.
