EduDrone – WE CONNECT, EuroSchool, Thane & Partners hosted over 70 School Leaders at their event, *Decoding NEP 2020 & National Curriculum Framework*
Decoding NEP 2020 & National Curriculum Framework, organised by EduDrone – WE CONNECT, EuroSchool Thane, and Partners, invigorated discussions on implementation strategies of NEP and the NCF in schools.
Quite a unique event, curated by Kajal Chhatija, Founder, EduDrone, and Dr. Jyotsna Mayadas, Principal, EuroSchool, Thane, the eventful day commenced with the school students’ melodious rendition, welcoming school leaders. Students presented a fusion dance in which they combined Indian and western dance forms. The musical band performance set the tone of the meeting, and each person present was mesmerised and applauded the teachers’ efforts to prepare them for the day. Dr. Jyotsna Mayadas, welcomed the school leaders on behalf of EuroSchool, Thane management, followed by the opening address delivered by Mrs. Kajal Chhatija and lamp lighting by the guest of honour, Mrs. Rajani Pattabhiraman, Head of School Development, Lighthouse Learning, along with the other dignitaries, Mr. Sanjay Chhatija, Managing Director, EduDrone, Pranay Pravin Oswal, Director, IQube & Dr. Harshita Sharma, Director, Brainstorm International and Mrs. Caroline Vaz, Principal, Green Lawns High School.
Dr. Swati Popat Vats, President, Early Childhood Association and Association for Primary Education and Research, took an exclusive virtual session on the crux of NCF 2022. In the key address, Dr. Vats highlighted the objectives, guidelines, lesson planning, various learning quotients, scaffolding teachers, gradual release of learning, importance of foundational literacy and numeracy, holistic report card, leveraging technology, and guided how a school can follow the 360-page document in a very simplified manner.
Dr. M.Madan Mohan, Principal, Symbiosis International School, highlighted how technology can be used as a tool to enable quality management and can be used to have an effective, personalised dash board for the school. Dr. Mohan shared the IB schools’ best practises and how those could be used in the curriculum to make our students future-ready.
The entire event was very interactive, and the quizzes kept the principals engaged; their participation was acknowledged with some spot prizes. A dome was set-up by Team Smart Planetarium in the school’s amphitheatre to watch the wonders of the sky. Team Adventure shared kitchen gardening bottles and explained how seeds can be used to grow herbs and vegetables. A seed enabled notepad and pencil were also gifted by Team One Bamboo. It was a reminder to all to grow more trees and be aware of the movement “Stop Cutting Trees.’
The event witnessed many knowledge exchange sessions by OMOTEC, Adventure Education, Study Smart, Brainwonders, School Toppers, Accura Concepts, One Bamboo, Theatrica, Masters’ Union, Simply Science, Torrins India, Singhania QuestPlus, Vizuara and PowerSchool.
The evening was thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated by all the educators together, creating lifelong learning, and they all treasured the certificate of participation they received towards the end.
